"Disowned by the Quakers
Many of Richard and Annes children where disowned by the Quakers for marrying out of the church and they moved to the Carolinas. The book Quaker Greggs states that Jacob Gregg and his wife Susanna Underwood moved with their cousin Jacob Gregg and wife Polly Hatcher, along with the Hollingsworths and the Brackens to Cane Creek Meeting* in Almance County, South Carolina*.
Richard GREGG was born in 1718 in Chester Co, Penn.- Society Of Friends (Quaker). He died in 1754 in New Castle Co, Delaware. He WD on September 17, 1754 in Christian Hundred, New Castle Co, Del... He WP on October 21, 1754 in Christian Hundred, New Castle Co, Del... Trustees of Richard's will fr Ann was cousins Samuel and Harmen GREGG..
He was married to Ann Hadley (daughter of Simon Hadley and Ruth Miller) on April 12, 1735 in New Garden Mo. Mtg, Chester Co, Penn.. Richard requested that he could marry Anne in New Garden Monthly Meeting from her Newark Monthly Mtg. and was granted that wish.. Ann Hadley was born on December 7, 1717 in Chester Co, Penn.- Society Of Friends (Quaker). "
