LTC Jack Williams age 80, was born in Trousdale, OK on May 8, 1930. He was one of five children born to Walter A. Williams and Irene (Chandler) Williams. Jack grew up East of Lexington in the Rose Hill Community. He later attended the Lexington schools where he graduated in 1948. He then enlisted into the U.S. Army and proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict. After serving for four years he returned home, joined the U.S. Army Reserves and enrolled at the University of Oklahoma. Jack later graduated with a B.S. Degree in engineering and his academic achievements earned him a place on the Deans Honor Roll. Because of his high grades he was hired by U.S. Steel Co. while going to college and after he graduated. While he continued working for U.S. Steel he received his masters in business management from the University of New York. Jack's education and experience working for U.S. Steel lead him into the bridge building industry. He traveled to numerous countries, designing and supervising the construction of bridges. After retiring from U.S. Steel, Jack became a Real Estate Procurement Officer for Federal Express in Dallas, TX. He also obtained his Texas Real Estate Brokers Licenses. Jack received letters of accommodations from his Peers and Associates. He was well known and revered by his friend and business associates many of whom were Bankers, Lawyers and Army Generals. Because of his failing health this past year, Jack moved to Oklahoma to be close to his family. Throughout his life, he was an avid hunter, golfer and sooner fan. He was active in numerous organizations and clubs including the O. U. Booster Club, India Shriners, Norman Masonic Lodge and the Lexington American Legion.

He was preceded in death by: Grandparents: Ina and Hightower Williams, Parents: Walter and Irene Williams, Sister: Ima Jo Blair and her daughter, Vickie Unsell, Brother: Jerrell Ray Williams.

He is survived by: Brother: Craig Williams and wife Sharon of Norman,

Sister: Vera Norman of Del City, Nieces and nephews: Marcia Vaughan, Vince Norman, Victor Norman, Vivi Hall and Jason Williams.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday December 31, 2010 at Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell. Interment will be at the Lexington cemetery.
