Widow Dies of Heart Attack
Hettie Cummings, Age 70, Succumbs

Following an illness of only six weeks, Mrs. Hettie Cummings, age 70, died early this morning in her home at 719 North Grant Street. Death was due to a heart attack.

Mrs. Cummings, the widow of Charles F. Cummings, who died in 1939, was well known in this city, having lived here for the past 50 years. She was born in Jackson County, November 25, 1870, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Chandler. A daughter died several years ago. Mrs. Cummings was a member of the Church of Christ.

The survivors include one son, John A Cummings, 701 South Rogers Street; a sister, Mrs. Lucy Pryor, Unionville; two brothers, Sam Chandler, east of Bloomington, and Mose (sic) Chandler, Bedford; four grandchildren, Irving Cummings, Indianapolis, Robert Cummings, Bloomington; Joan Cummings, Fort Wayne, and Betsy Cummings, Bloomington, and two great grandchildren.

Final rites will be held at 2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon in the Weir Chapel, with Elder A. W. Harvey in charge. Interment will be in Rosehill cemetery. The body will remain at the Weir Funeral Home before services.

Cummings Rites on Saturday

Funeral services for Mrs. Hettie Jane Cummings will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Weir funeral home, in charge of Elder A. W. Harvey. Burial will be in Rosehill cemetery.

Mrs. Cummings, widow of the late Charles F. Cummings, died Wednesday at her home, 719 north Grant street, after an illness of several months.

Pallbearers will be Leo Brock, W. S. Adams, Irving Cummings, Alfred Patterson, Joe Pryor and Leonard Brock. Flower bearers are Betsy Ross Cummings, Jean Cummings and Dolores Patton.
