Solomon served as a private with the 11th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, Company H (Civil War).

Boyer. - Solomon Boyer was born Jan. 21, 1836; died Jan. 25, 1917; aged 81 y. 4 d. He leaves to mourn his departure his wife and son and many relatives and friends. He was a member of the Mennonite Church. Funeral services were conducted on Sunday afternoon Jan. 28, at the Thomas Mennonite Church near Hollsopple, Pa., by David Garber, Lyndhurst, Va., L. A.
