The Nebraska Signal 1919 Obituary. WAGNER, HENRY—Henry Wagner was born in Baden, Germany, November 8, 1841. He emigrated with his parents to America in 1846, residing at Lawrenceburg, Ind. His parents afterwards removed to Ohio. As a young man he was engaged in the bridge department for the United States government ranging through the Civil War. He later removed to Missouri and became engaged in coal mining.

He came to Nebraska, settling in Gage county, and was employed in the postal department for several years, after which he took up the pursuits of agriculture, removing to Dundy county, Nebraska as a pioneer, settling on a homestead. He moved with his family to Fillmore county in 1892, residing two miles west of Geneva on a farm.

He was married to Margaret Lawry of Pike county, Ohio, December 24, 1874. He is survived by his wife and five sons. He departed from this life February 21, 1919, aged 77 years 8 months, and 13 days. The funeral took place from the family residence in Geneva at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. A short talk was given by Rev. B.A. Warren. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery.
