Osjetea Briggs, 84, of Palestine and formerly of Groesbeck, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2002 in Palestine.
Graveside services were conducted at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, in Faulkenberry Cemetery.
Miss Briggs was born December 14, 1917 to Simeon Singleton and Docia Augusta (Gant) Briggs. She was a writer and photographer and has written many articles for newspapers.
Miss Briggs was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters: Viola Wiley Thomas, Minnie Lee Stewart and Maggie Olive Briggs; three brothers: Randall, Roland and Roy Briggs.
She is survived by several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Museum for East Texas Culture, 400 Micheaux Ave., Palestine, TX 75801; Anderson County Humane Society, Palestine or the Cartmell Home, 2212 W. Regan, Palestine, TX 75801.
Groesbeck Funeral Home was in charge on arrangements.
