Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.

Sarah Jones was born January 24, 1934 in Morton, Mississippi. Being the second oldest, she assumed much of the responsibility for the home, learning how to cook and clean at a very young age.

She married G.W. Jones in November, 1949. They were the blessed parents of 10 children: W.C., Mary, Margaret, Linda, Regina, Betty, Sharon, Doris and Isaac. One daughter, Sarah Lee, died in infancy.

In 1973, Sarah gave her life to the Lord, serving at Starlight Church of Christ (Holiness) in Compton, California. She was a reliable, quiet and strong willed woman, full of wisdom, never being critical or judgmental. Her life had a great influence on many, especially her children and grandchildren.

Her husband, G.W., passed away from cancer in 1989. Sarah continued serving the Lord, her family and her church for the next 22 years. On January 1, 2011, Sarah Savannah Jones was ushered into the presence of the Savior she loved so much and served so faithfully. Hallelujah! Glory!
