Aaron married Eliza Jane Vail and lived in Delhi, had 4 children: William, Henry, Hattie and Kate. He volunteered in 1862 in Cincinnati on the Union side for 3 years of the Co. E 39th Reg. OH Vol. Inf., private in Civil War. Mustered out in 1865 Louisville KY with Honorable Discharge. Lived on river boat on the Ohio River at the Millcreek. A few years before his death deserted his family to live with Emma Callahan of Covington, KY and had 4 more children. He was buried 13th of Nov and his death was the result of a gunshot wound in the spine received in the Civil War. (His son William, 16 in 1888, testified to the above in the Widow's Pension Paper.) Grandfather of Charles C. Hitchens of Addyston and great grandfather of Meredith Hitchens, superintendent school in Addyston.
