Miss Effie Womack Rites Held Saturday

Greenville - Miss Effie D. Womack, 73, of 2112 Walworth Street, died at 8:20 p.m. Thursday, August 4, 1966, in a Greenville Hospital following a lengthy illness. Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Coker-Matthews-Peters Chapel with the Rev. B.J. Bell officiating. Burial was in the Dial Cemetery, Route 2, Honey Grove.

Miss Womack was born in Decatur, Alabama, on June 5, 1893, the daughter of William Monroe Womack and Harriet Ellen "Hattie" (Crow) Womack. She came to Texas when only six months old and made her home in Dallas and Honey Grove as well as in Greenville.

She was employed as a bookkeeper and was a member of the Park Street Baptist Church.

Reposal will be at the funeral home. The family will be at 1903 Oak Street.

She is survived by one brother, Aaron M. Womack, Honey Grove; two sisters, Mrs. Betty Strickland, Coolridge, Arizona, and Miss Annie Manning, Mineral Wells; and several nieces and nephews including Mrs. Vestice Poteet of Greenville. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters.
