Youngest child of Seth & Eunice (Hopkinson) Samson, she was one of seventeen children born to her parents.
Phoebe was married on August 21, 1850 in Jersey Co., Illinois to Daniel Curtiss Eggleston a native of New York. To their union was born one child, Olive Eggleston Armstrong.
Daniel Eggleston died on January 15, 1875 and on September 5, 1878 she married a widower, John Priest and they made their home in Rochester, Illinois.
