Rowena Jane Chute, daughter of Dr. Richard Chute of Tralee, Co. Kerry [d.14 Sept. 1856], and his wife Elizabeth Maunsell, was born/baptised at Tralee on 9 February 1842.

Rowena married Arthur Steffe Crisp, an Army Officer, on 4 October 1866, at Tralee.
They were the parents of
Victor Richard Chute, born 26 August 1867, Tralee, bapt. 29 September 1867.
Arthur Rowan Crisp, born 3 October 1868, Tralee.

What became of Arthur S. Crisp is unknown.
Rowena divorced Arthur Steffe Crisp, with final decree dated 28 Feb 1872.

Rowena married John Atkinson on 22 March 1873, at Tralee.
They had the following children,
Edward Chute Atkinson, b. 31 July 1875, Tralee.
Cecil Thomas Atkinson, b. 23 October 1876, Dublin.
Hector John Atkinson, b. 3 June 1879, Dublin.
Hubert Rowan Atkinson, b. 6 October 1882, Dublin.
