SGM Sanford Templeton...One of the finest human being that one could know...Top was the First Sergeant of the 529th MP Company, (USAREUR Honor Guard), Heidelberg, Germany, when I was assigned there. He had been assigned there numerous times during his career and while I was there he made SGM(E9).
When he left the 529th, he was replaced by 1SG Ralph Hamblin...I later saw SGM Templeton at Ft. Gordon when I passed through there. He later returned to Germany and retired over there with his family...Last heard he was living near Gemunden, Germany.
Sanford passed away at a young age(51). Have tried searching for his family but unable to find but do know that he is buried in Germany.
He was a good friend, and one outstanding Soldier and SGT MAJ....Know that his family misses him as well as all of his friends.
He was a Vietnam Veteran.
May he rest in Peace.
