VIRGINIA B. STAINS, 89, of Frederick, died Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005, at Northhampton Manor.

Born Oct. 11, 1916, in Wolfsville, Md., she was the daughter of the late Victor B. and Bertha G. Metzer Wolf.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, John L. Rice, in 1946; and her second husband, Ray E. Stains, in 1991.

She was a member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church in Myersville, Md., and Calvary United Methodist Church in Frederick.

She is survived by one daughter, Johnna R. Kennedy of Frederick; one brother, Victor M. Wolfe of Wolfsville; two granddaughters, Kara L. Kennedy and Jami M. Brake, both of Frederick; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Audrey W. McNanny; and three brothers, Willis A. Wolfe, Gail C. Wolfe and Lauren Wolfe.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Ricketts Funeral Home, Myersville. The Rev. Carroll Doggett will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Myersville.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mount Zion United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 299, Myersville, MD 21773 or Calvary United Methodist Church, 133 W. Second St., Frederick, MD 21701.
