JAMES MATTHEW SELL
Mr. Sell, 89, of Donnertown, Duncansville RD 2, died at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, 1986, in Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring.
Mr. Sell retired from the green brick department of General Refractories, Claysburg, in 1961, after 15 years' service.
He was born March 14, 1896, in Donnertown, the son of Simon and Mary (Benton) Sell, and March 8, 1923, in Cumberland, Md., married Emma Fleck.
Surviving are his wife, six children: James M. Jr., Pauline E. Smith, Ailene Butler, Leona Ott and Jean Thompson of Donnertown and Shirley Smith of Roaring Spring; 20 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Sell was a member of the Leamersville Church of the Brethren and Golden Rule Sunday School Class.
He served as a former township supervisor of Freedom Township for several years.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday in the Thompson Funeral Home, Roaring Spring.
SELL -- Services for James M. Sell of Donnertown, Duncansville RD 2, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Leamersville Church of the Brethren, by the Rev. Paul Johnson. Interment in Riverview Cemetery, Leamersville. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday in the Thompson Funeral Home, Roaring Spring. A daughter, Elsie, died in May 1936.
