Private memorial services are pending for Mrs. Wanda Hoekstra, 71, a former New Holstein area resident who died Thursday at her home in Milwaukee. The Ritter Funeral Home, Milwaukee, was in charge of the cremation arrangements.
A resident of Milwaukee since 1949, Mrs. Hoekstra was born Nov. 3, 1904 in Gronau, Westphalen, Germany, a daughter of Herman and Sophia Jalowiezki Hansel. On March 4, 1926, she was married to Bartel Hoekstra, also of Gronau, in New Holstein. They resided at 2424 Wisconsin Ave. and later on R. 2, New Holstein. Mr. Hoekstra died in 1970.
Mrs. Hoekstra is survived by three daughters, Mrs. John (Emmy) Henschel, New Holstein; Mrs. Norbert (Marie) Barthels, R. E. Sheboygan Falls; Mrs. Walter (Anne) Schmidt, New Berlin; 11 grandchildren and a sister and a brother in Germany.
