Mr. Davis was a native of Walterboro, S. C. and retired as maintenance supervisor after 22 years of service with the Gulfport City Schools. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Gulfport; a member of Masonic Lodge 422 F&AM, Gulfport; and received his 50 year pin in 1995. He was a 32nd degree Mason; a Shriner; and a member of Eastern Star (NU)51. Survivors include his wife, Frances Payne Davis; a son, John Michael Davis; a daughter, Deborah Davis Woods, all of Gulfport; a brother, Joe O. Davis of Savannah, Ga.; and a granddaughter.
A service will be at 11 a.m. today at Riemann Funeral Home, 25th Ave., Gulfport with burial in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport. Page: A7
