Mrs. Ruth Vie Burton Frye, age 92, of the Hickory Nut Community in Nancy, KY passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at the home of her daughter, Judy Dalton, Ferry Rd. Somerset, KY.
She was born in Jabez, KY on December 18, 1914 to the late Joe & Eva Thurston Burton. She was a very loving mother who loved the Lord and her church family. She was saved when she was 13 years old in Jabez, KY. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church since 1962. She played the piano at New Hope Baptist Church for 47 years and she was a Sunday School teacher for 25 years. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was truly an inspiration to all who knew her and she loved to sing praises to the Lord.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Waldo Frye; her son, Raleigh Frye; a great-grandson, Jared Hurtt; four brothers, Robert Burton, Arnold Burton, Warren Burton, and Lilburn Burton; and three sisters, Elva Nicholas, Mildred Dixon, and Elsie Barker.
Funeral services for Ruth V. Frye will be held on Friday, December 14, 2007 at the Memory Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home at 11:00am with Bro. Murrell Crockett, officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2007 at 5:00pm at the Memory Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to New Hope Cemetery Fund or Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
