Oleva Groff Slawson, 88, Iberia, died Nov. 17, 2001, at Brookhaven Nursing Center, Carrollton, Texas. She was born Nov. 2, 1913, in Iberia, a daughter of Chester A. and Ellora Oleva Eads Groff. She was married April 9, 1939, in St. Louis, to Edward H. Slawson, who died June 2,1985.

A retired school teacher, she taught in rural Miller County schools and in the Crocker and Waynesville school districts. She was a member of Pulaski/Miller Cunty Area Retired Teachers Association and Iberia
Nazarene Church.

Survivors include: one son, Kenneth Edward Slawson, Carrollton,
Texas; one daughter, Virginia Milbourn, Iberia; one sister, Virginia Howard, Pueblo, Colo.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Iberia Nazarene Church.
The Rev. Henry Shelly will officiate. Burial will be in Iberia Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Rekus Funeral Home, Ieria, and from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Memorials are suggested to Iberia Nazarene Church.
