Freda grew up in McCook and graduated from McCook Senior High in 1929. She began her employment as a secretary in the county extension office. On Dec. 10, 1936, Freda married Elmer W. Olson in Oberlin, Kansas, and they made they made their home in McCook. In 1959, Freda became the Red Willow County Clerk until retiring in 1977. She has spent the past several years in Grand Island.
Freda was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer on Oct. 17, 1987; her parents; brothers, James Adams, Richard Adams and John Adams; sisters, Helen Lindquist, Mildred Wilcox and an infant sister.
Survivors are: son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Twila Olson of Grand Island; daughter, Janice Olson of Grand Island; and sister, Doris Bobier of Gibraltar, Mich.; a grandson, two great-grandchildren, eight stepgreat-grandchildren and four step great-great-grandchildren.
