His unidentified local obit says: Roy M. Lotts. Roy "Mitchel" Lotts, 78, of HCR 32, Box 15, Middlebrook, died at 11 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 10, 1992) in Liberty House Nursing Home, Waynesboro. He was born Sept. 23, "1914," in Rockbridge County, a son of the late John Thomas and Rachel Sweet Lotts. Mr. Lotts was a member of New Providence Presbyterian Church and for 15 years was caretaker for the church cemetery. He was the retired owner of Lotts Custom Slaughter, Newport. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Stockdale Gladwell Lotts; and one grandson. Survivors include two sons, David M. Lotts of Middlebrook and William P. Gladwell Lotts of Waynesboro; one daughter Mrs. Mary Glenn Davis of Middlebrook; one sister, Mrs. Bessie L. Kirby of Glasgow; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the New Providence Presbyterian Church by Dr. John H. H. Lewis and the Rev. Thomas Biggs. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews. The family will receive friends from 7:30 to 9 p.m. today in the Henry Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
