Odell Woodrow "Brownie" Birdwell, 83, passed away on Thursday, April 29, 1999, in Clayton, New Mexico. He was born in Coosville, Tennessee on February 15, 1917, the son of Nellie Elizabeth (Haile) and Tilford F Birdwell.
Odell graduated from Clayton High School in 1937.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church; and the Clayton Golf Club.
In 1938, he married Mary Frances Roberts in Clayton, NM.
Odell is preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Lynn Smith, in 1984.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Frances (Roberts); a daughter, Brownell Keeth of Clayton; a son, Bill Birdwell of Clayton; a brother, Ted Birdwell of St. George, UT; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
