WOOSTER -- Thomas Clark, 61, of Wooster, passed away Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011, at his residence after a long illness.

It was his wishes there be no local services. A time of private family fellowship will take place at his home. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Sarasota, Fla.

Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, 2284 Benden Drive, Wooster, is privileged with serving the family. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.custerglenn.com.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Hospice & Palliative Care of Greater Wayne County, 2525 Back Orrville Road, Wooster 44691.

He was born July 5, 1949, in Millersburg, to Herbert V. Sr. and Myrna V. (Neitzelt) Clark and had been a Wooster resident for the last few years.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War in Southeast Asia from 1967-71, and was the recipient of the Bronze Star, Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Expert Rifleman Medal.

He worked for many years as production supervisor for Owens Brockway in Berlin, before retiring in 2004.

He attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Wooster, loved the outdoors including hunting and most importantly spending time with his family.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are children, Troy (Michal) Clark and granddaughter, Melina Clark of Sarasota, Fla., Quentin (Kay Beth) Clark and grandson, Pierce Clark of Sarasota, Fla., and Hailey (Juan) Diaz and grandson, Evan Diaz and granddaughter, Javiera Diaz of Wooster; his mother of Millersburg; and brothers, Herb Clark Jr. of Millersburg and Mark Clark of Welcome.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by a sister, Veronica.
