Thomas Haney was the son of James Haney (1776=1855) and Hannah Freeborn (1780-1821). His twin brother William died in Cross Creek Pennsylvania when he was 10 years old. Thomas was married twice First to around 1829 Sarah Allender (about 1802- 1831), They had two children : Jane Haney (1821- 1837) and Hannah Haney (about 1826. Sarah died in 1831.
Thomas married second about 1834 Nancy McLaughlin )1810-1858) They had 7 children:
Mary Ann Haney 1835-about 1861 age 26,
Anthony 1836-1864 He died in the Civil War at Richmond but has a memorial in Wisconsin.
Elizabeth Haney b 1839 m Capt Stauson
John Freeborn Haney b 1841 d. of disease in Washington DC after the battle of Antietum. Buried there but with a memorial in Wisconsin.
Adaline Haney 1841-1919 married James Henry Cabanis about 1867
George Haney about 1851 died in infancy
Julia Bevans Haney 1852 married Hiram James Witherbeo
