Elmer COPLEN, 83, former Fulton county resident, passed away 7 a.m. today in the General Hospital at Elkhart, Ind. He had been ill for six months. Mr. Coplen had been a resident of Elkhart for the past 25 years. He was born Nov. 13, 1867 in Fulton county. In April of 1891, he was married to Frances RODIBAUGH. He was the son of Martin and Sarah (SEVERNS) COPLEN. Mr. Coplen was a member of the Talma Christian church. The following children survive: Earl COPLEN, Plymouth; Floyd COPLEN, Elkhart; Mrs. Joseph GRASS, Mrs. Max ACHBERGER, both of Elkhart; Mrs. Russell FILSON, Plymouth; Mrs. Ellsworth PHELPS, Granger; sixteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted in the Walley Funeral Home, Elkhart, Wednesday 10 a.m. Burial will be in the Reichter cemetery, northeast of this city. The casket will be opened at the cemetery.
