NORA SELF
---Mrs. Nora Self, sixty-seven, of Lovilla, Iowa, died suddenly Monday afternoon at 3:05 at the home of her son, Claud Self, in La Plata. Mrs. Self, who was not known to be ill, suffered a heart attack and instantaneous death while conversing with her son.
---The deceased was born Nora Ethel Farmer, the daughter of John and Mattie Farmer, July 4, 1886 in Atlanta, Missouri. She attended school in Love Lake and at Atlanta and was married March 15, 1904 to Marion C. Self. Fourteen children were born to the couple.
---Survivors include 12 children, Harold of Sturgeon, Jess, Marion and Carlyle, Lovilia, Iowa, Don and Esther Caldwell of Albia, Iowa, Mrs. Beulah Cameron of Oakland, California, Virginia Alberts of Fairland, California, Mrs. Blanche Gourmill of St. Louis, Mrs. Thelma Burgess of Hillsboro, Missouri and Claud and J.P. of La Plta.
---Also surviving are three brothers, Arthur and Glenn Farmer of St. Louis and John Farmer of Aurora, Missouri; four sisters, Mrs. Gineth Allen of Higbee, Missouri, Mrs. Lelia Knudson of Chicago, Mrs. Ruth Smith of Compton, California and Mary Phillips of La Plata; twenty-four grandchildren, thirty-four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
---Preceding her in death were her husband in 1936 and two daughters, Mildred Elizabeth and Ethel Imogene.
---Mrs. Self was born in the La Plata vicinity and spent her entire life here until 1936 when she moved to Iowa.
---Funeral services are at the La Plata Christian Church tomorrow at 2:00. Rev. Fred Hudson and Rev. Ray Prather will officiate. Burial will be in the La Plata cemetery.
---Pallbearers will be Riley Fast, Ted Waite, Olen Waite, Harold Turner and Leland McGandy.
