It reads George W. Akes, son of Mr. and Mrs. H.G. Akes was born April 17, 1878; died at the home of his sister Mrs. Amanda Brown near Van Wert. December 29, 1921; aged 43 years, 8 months and 12 days. He was converted and united with the Palestine Baptist church 23 years ago and lived a devoted Christian life to the end. He leaves to mourn his departure two sister, six brothers and a host of other relatives and friends. His last words were that he loved everybody.
Funeral services were held Sunday.
