She was born on March 10, 1979, the daughter of Cheval Dempsey and the late Sammy A. Yopp. She was raised in Carolina Beach.
Surviving in addition to her mother is her loving husband, Marty Sessoms; two children, Skylar and Lukas Sessoms; her paternal grandmother, Barbara Yopp; her maternal grandmother, Barbara Johnson; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, David L. and Deborah W. Sessoms; her brother-in-law, David L. Sesssoms, Jr.; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and many, many loving friends.
