Mrs. Verna Jones

Funeral arrangements are incomplete for Mrs. Verna Hester Jones, 65, of Eccles. She died at 9 p. m. Thursday in a local hospital following a long illness.

Born May 14, 1905 at Abraham, she was a daughter of Mrs. Emma Goodson, Eccles and the late W. C. Goodson.

She was a lifelong resident of Raleigh County and was a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors other than her than her mother, include her husband, Columbus (Bill) Jones; two daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Dixie) Stoots and Mrs. Gilmer (Rujean) Ayers, both of Eccles; three brothers, Everett of Orlando, Fla., Okey, Sprague, and Willie Goodson of Union; two sisters, Mrs. Lottie Brash, Shady Spring and Mrs. Bertie Meadows of Abraham; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

The body is at the Melton Mortuary.
