My Aunt Helen was also my Nona , my godmother. She was full of life the whole time that I knew her, from my childhood in NYC, until her later years in Toms River, NJ. She married my Uncle Steve, my godfather, on July 21, 1935. They remained married until he passed in 1978. She re-married later to Nick Capece, who she lived with in Toms River until he passed. Sandy and I cherish the visits we had with her in Toms River and we can still hear her laugh. Sandy still makes the split pea soup from the recipe that Aunt Helen gave her years ago.
