My Uncle Steve was born in Constantinople (now known as Istanbul) Turkey and emmigrated to the United States through Ellis Island when he was a child. Uncle Steve was also my Nonos (godfather). I only knew him when I was a child in NYC. I can always remember how he used to tease all us kids about being good "or I'll give you the back of my hand" although he never did get mad at us. He worked almost all of his adult life at the Stork Club with my Dad Jimmy. When he retired he moved with my Aunt Helen to Toms River until he passed in 1980.
