She was the daughter of Samuel Clarence and Sarah Catherine Baynard Dobson, and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Although she was a member of the aforementioned faith, she was active in the affairs of Little Grove Methodist Church in Frisco.
She is survived by her husband, Julian Haywood Austin, Sr.; two daughters: Mrs. Marilyn I. Meads of Elizabeth City and Mrs. Verna Lee Wall of Elizabeth City; a son, Julian H. Austin, Jr. of Elizabeth City; four sisters: Mrs. Mable Bryant of Baltimore, Mrs. Verna Betts of Wilmington, Del., Mrs. Dorothy Haley of Elkton, MD, and Mrs. Esther Taylor of Kissimee, FL; two brothers: Arthur Dobson of Cambridge, MD and Walter Dobson of St. Michael, MD; and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday in Little Grove Methodist Church by the Rev. Hobart Burnside, pastor, and Edgar Arthur Wetmore of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Burial was in Quidley Cemetery in Buxton.
