KNOX CITY -- Hershell Tankersley, 72, died Tuesday in an Abilene hospital after a brief illness.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Foursquare Church with the Revs. Paul Chambers and Lee Wall officiating. Burial will be in Knox City Cemetery, directed by Smith Funeral Home.
Mr. Tankersley was born in Cliff in Haskell County and attended school in Cliff and O'Brien. He married Bonnie Snelson in 1942 in Knox City and was a farmer. He was a member of Foursquare Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Knox City; one son, Rick Tankersley of Dallas; one brother, Loyd Tankersley of San Diego; and one sister, Rena Tankersley of Knox City.
