Jackie Loyd Hendrix Sr., 67, of Florence, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011. Visitation was Thursday, Jan. 27, at Spry-williams Funeral Home, Florence. The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28, at the funeral home chapel, with Brother Greg Burnett officiating. Burial will be in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Hendrix, Charles Hendrix, Aubrey Burnett, Davey Cottles, David Peeden, Lance weaver and Cain Miller.
Honarary pallbearers will be friends and co-workers at Transtar. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosie Lee Hendrix, and brothers, Harvey, Robert, Walter, James and Charles.
Mr. Hendrix served in the U.S. Navy and recently retired from transtar. He loved gardening, riding and enjoyed the outdoors and spoiling his two dogs. Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Betty Jo cottles; children, Jackie Hendrix Jr. (Debra), Kim Williams (Chris), Juanita Burnett (Greg), all of florence; stepchildren, Davey Cottles (Denise), Kim weaver (Lance), Pam Cottles, all of Florence; sisters, Annie Mae clark, Eleanor Gutherie, alice burgett and Georgia Anders; 11 grandchildren; eight great-gradnchildren;numerous nieces and nephews.
