Eleanor (Lakoduk) Garness, 69, Minot, ND, died Wednesday, March 26, 2003, in a Minot hospital.

Eleanor was born August 12, 1933, on a farm southeast of Butte, ND, the daughter of Fred and Anna (Panasuk) Lakoduk. She attended school in Butte, Bismarck and Riverdale, ND.

She was once married to Milford Garness of Caledonia, MN. The couple lived in North Dakota where Milford worked on the Garrison Dam Project. They moved to Massena, N.Y. where he worked on the St. Lawrence Seaway, and then to Caledonia, MN, where their son Michael was born.

Eleanor was employed as an accountant for Peter Kiewit Construction and later worked at Minot Dental Labs, both in Minot, ND.

Funeral: Monday, March 31, 2003, at 10:30 a.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Visitation: Monday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial: Evergreen Cemetery in Caledonia, MN.

Officiant: Rev. Don Andrews, Chaplain at Trinity Health, Minot, ND
