Mrs. Bertha Laux, 91, of R. 2, Kiel, widow of Peter, died Thursday at her farm home in Schleswig, southeast of Cedar Lake. The former Bertha Tagge, she was born in the Town of Meeme, Dec 27, 1872, a daughter of the late William and Wilhelmina Tagge. Her marriage to Mr. Laux took place in St. John's United Church of Christ, Schwartzwald, Feb. 15, 1896. Following their marriage, the couple operated the Laux homestead farm in Schleswig. Mr. and Mrs. Laux observed their 55th wedding anniversary in 1951. He died in November, 1955. Mrs. Laux was a member of St. John's Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Miss Roma, at home, Mrs. Cecil (Selma) Mabson, Plymouth, and Mrs. Edgar (Anita) Kraemer, Sheboygan; two sons, Clarence and Harvey both of R. 2, Kiel; four grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Services will be Sunday in St. John's Church, Schwartzwald, with the Rev. E. L. Hennig, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
