This photo was found in my collection from my grandparents and great grandparents Robert Harvey Woolworth & James Harvey Woolworth. It would have been given to my great grandfather James Harvey Woolworth while he served during the Civil War. Back of photo states Edgar Lampman Arena Co Wisconsin, Given at Brashar City, La Dec 1864

Edgar Lampman Passes Away Friday

Edgar Lampman died at his home near this city Friday, January 23rd.
Edgar Lampman was born March 19th, 1833 at Bedford, Canada, where he lived till the age of 14, when he came to Highgate Vt., where hr remained for two years. It was during these years that he received what schooling he had, be being left by his parents to care for himself in early childhood. From this place he came to Arena, Wisconsin whither his father had moved some years pervious. Here he made his home till after the Civil War. On Oct 22, 1857 he married Miss Emily Woolworth. To them were born 8 children of whom five survive. They are: Mrs. Emily Crandall, Minneapolis: Mrs. C.L. Roberts, Akeley, Minnesota; Mrs. O.E. Fairbanks, Milaca, Minnesota.

He enlisted in Co A of the 11th Wisconsin, Sept. 7th 1861 and was honorably discharged Sept 14th, 1865, having served four years of the war.

At the close of the war he moved with his family to Rushford, Minnesota removing to Renville County in the time of 1872. He came to Minnesota Falls in the spring of 1874 where he has since resided. His wife, Emily, passed to her final rest shortly after the birth of a son, Edgar, on March 22, 1879.

Mr. Lampman married his second wife, Miss Eunice Baughton, Aug 19th, 1883. She has been a true helpmate to him during these many years being with him constantly, during his great affliction and final sickness.

Mr. Lampman was a man of true integrity and Christian principles, and as such his memory will be cherished by all who knew him best.

The funeral occurred from the home on Sunday afternoon, Rev. Melby, officiating.
