Medina Co. Gazette - May 22, 1953: Herman Munson Dies Tuesday In 92nd Year. Services will be held at the Longacre-McCarthy funeral home at 2 p.m. Friday for Herman Munson with Rev. Ormund A. Schulz officiating. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Munson, who was 91, died Tuesday afternoon after an illness of several years.
A native of Harrisville township, he was a cheesemaker and farmer by trade. He operated farms in Spencer, Homer and Harrisville townships before purchasing a 140-acre farm on E. Smith road in 1900. He retired from farming in 1937.
Survivors include four children, Dr. Chan Munson, a Lakewood dentist; John and Tom Munson at home, and Mrs. Ted McDowell of Medina. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, in 1939, and a son, Blake.
