PECOS, TX - Lorenza Millan, 94, of Pecos, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011, at her home.
A Rosary service was said Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011, at Peaceful Garden Funeral Home. Mass was held the next day at St. Catherine's Catholic Church with Fabian A. Marquez officiating. Interment followed at Greenwood Cemetery.
Ms. Millan was born Nov. 13, 1916, in Balmorhea, to Ysidro and Eloisa Garcia. She was a longtime resident of Pecos. She married Charlie Millan. He died in 1998.
Besides her parents and husband, she is also preceded in death by two daughter, Adela Guebara, and by Cinderella Pallanes; one son, Charlie Millan Jr.; brother, Ysidro Garcia Jr; and three sisters, Alvesa Armendariz, Noe Garcia, and Eva Vasquez. [Also Elena Galindo who died in 1951 in Fabens; Aurelia Fierro who died in 1983 in Dinuba, California; Felipa Vejil of Odessa died on 24 Mar 2011; and a brother Tomas Garcia who drowned as a young boy.]
Survivors include her sons, Mike Millan of Barstow, Henry Millan and Tommy Millan, both of Andrews and Julian Millan of Pecos; daughters, Sally Gomez and Mary "Nena" Millan, both of Pecos and Eloisa Contreras of Odessa; sister, Felipa Vejil of Odessa; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren also survive.
