Mrs. Dirks was born in Germany. Her husband preceded her in death two years ago. Surviving are two sons: Harm, Gilman, Fred, at home; and five daughters: Mrs. Daniels Igena, Ayr, N.D.; Mrs. Minnie Bents, Welcome, Minn.; Mrs. Harm Harms and Mrs. Henry Seggerman, Toluca; and Mrs. Peter Buck, Benson. Three brothers, Harm and Henry Seggerman, Secor, and Dick Seggerman, Granger, Ind., also survive.

She was baptized Greta Seggermann 29 January 1854 at the Evangelical Lutheran church in Horsten, Ostfriesland according to their church records.
She was confirmed 21 March 1869 at St Peter Lutheran near Benson, Woodford Co, Illinois.
She is listed as Gretha in the Illinois Deaths and Stillbirths index.
