John A. (Buster) Pierce, 78, Pauls Valley, died July 24 in the Pauls Valley General Hospital. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 26 in the Stufflebean Funeral Home at 2 p.m. with Rev. Bill Dunning officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
A resident of the Pauls Valley Health Care Facility, Mr. Pierce was born July 3, 1900 in Oklahoma Indian Territory. He had lived and around the Pauls Valley area most of his life.
Survivors include 4 daughters, Mrs. Kathryn Taylor, Mrs. Joyce Smith, and Mrs. Marie Murphey, all of Las Cruces, N.M. and Mrs. Hazel Aaron, Denver, Colo.; 1 son, Monroe Pierce, Las Cruces, N.M.; 2 brothers, Lester Speck Pierce, Colorado City, TX; Delbert Pierce, Colwell, ID; 4 sisters: Mrs. Grace Cooksey, Byars, Mrs. Mamie Young, Pauls Valley, Mrs. Ruth Hale, Oklahoma City, Mrs. Beulah Snyder, Oklahoma City; 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren."
