My sister got Ashe (pronounced Ah-she) when she was a puppy. When she moved to Indiana, Ashe went to live with my parents. When they moved from Colorado to Indiana, Ashe went with them.

Although, Ashe was a very large dog, she had a gentle dispasition to her.

Shortly after my parents moved into their new home in Indiana. Ashe began to bark like crazy near the shed in the backyard. My Dad went out to see what she was barking at. He took his flashlight and looked under the shed expecting to find a skunk or other wild animal. Nope, sometime during the night a tiny kitten had crawled under the shed.

When the kitten came out, Ashe adopted her as her own baby. She carried Baby around in her mouth like a mother animal. Baby Kitty became Ashe's baby and they were often together. Baby Kitty would crawl up on to Ashe as she was sleeping and curl up on her side. Baby Kitty would also sleep in the same crate in the garage as Ashe.

Ashe was a great dog and is truly missed.

My children and I were visiting my parents when Ashe became ill. We believe that she had a stroke. She was not the same dog. The light was gone from her eyes. My parents decided to take her in and have her put down. We all said our goodbyes.
