Janice A. Sullivan, 85, of 2840 Plover Road, Wisconsin Rapids, died Thursday evening, Feb. 3, 2011, at Harmony House Assisted Living in Wisconsin Rapids.





Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 8, at the United Methodist Church of Wisconsin Rapids. The Rev. Marty Williams will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.

Janice was born July 25, 1925, in Wisconsin Rapids, to Leslie and Borghild (Johnsrud) Cutler. She married Gordon Sullivan on Feb. 24, 1951, in Rudolph. He preceded her in death on Oct. 9, 2009.

Janice attended Wood County Normal School where she earned her teaching certificate. She taught at Vesper and Rudolph Schools, specializing in Title I. Janice enjoyed a teaching career that spanned 42 years and spent the majority of her teaching years in Rudolph, where she retired after 30 years of service.

She was a member of the Moose Lodge, Tri-City Riding Club, and was a charter member of the Grand Rapids Lionesses Club. She and her husband, Gordon, had a big part in starting the Little Britches Rodeo along with people who became lifelong friends. Janice enjoyed spending time with her family, and her greatest joy was being with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She liked to cook and bake and enjoyed going to Jazzercize with her sisters.

Janice is survived by her, son, Gregory (significant other, Marcey) Sullivan of Wisconsin Rapids; two daughters, Janita and Janey Lue Sullivan of Rudolph; two grandchildren, Tanya (Keith) Klawikowski of Billings, Mont., and Sara Peskie of Rudolph; four great-grandchildren, Tori and Maddie Klawikowski and Haley and Ethan Peskie; one sister, Doris (Blaine) Gamble of New Carlisle, Ind.; and sister-in-law, Marjorie (Harold) Marth. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons, Glen and Gary; six sisters, Merita Knuteson, Valetta Brimacomb, Myra Ironside, Bernadien Thomas, Illa Ironside, and Lynette Noble; and three brothers, Gerald, Willard "Bud", and Jimmy Cutler.
