LEHI – Janet Gleason Casper, age 82, died on her birthday, February 12, 2004 at American Fork Hospital.

She was born February 12, 1922 in Hopkinton, Massachusetts to Waldo F. and Alice Brackett Gleason.

She married Reo A. Casper on October 31, 1945 in Dillon, Montana. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple. Janet made her wedding dress of surplus parachute silk.

She was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy.

She was a member of the LDS church, where she was active in several positions, including Relief Society Counselor, librarian, Primary teacher, and was temple officiator in the Ogden Temple for three years.

Surviving are her husband, Reo A. Casper of Lehi; one daughter and four sons, Carmen (Jon) Larsen, Lehi; Kevin (Rhonda) Casper, Ashton, ID; Dan (Penny) Casper, Lehi; Ernie Casper, LaBelle, ID; Kip (Tricia) Casper, No. Ogden; 21 grandchildren; and 42 great grandchildren.

Also surviving are four sisters, Alfreda Hojem, Acton, MA; Edit Proctor, Florida; Josephine Hamilton, Douglas, MA; and Patricia Miller of Warrenton, OR.

She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters, Annette Lumbert, Ruth Proctor, Richard Howard; and three grandchildren, Darby, Tyler and Reno.
