Julianna was born January 7, 1889 in Neudorf, Glueckstal, Odessa, South Russia (now Moldova), to Jacob and Philipina 'Phoebe' Will Wiederrich [Wiedrich]. Her siblings are: Christina, born 1887; Jacob, born 1891; Johann 'John, born 1893; Martha, born 1899; Adeline, born 1902; and Edwin, born 1903.

The family immigrated into the U.S. in 1893, and settled in Edmunds County, South Dakota. In March of 1909 in Hosmer, South Dakota, Julianna married Gottlieb Heyne. They had five children: Edwin, born about 1911; Arthur, born 1912; Edward, born about 1914; Alma, born about 1916; and Martha, born about 1918. They farmed and lived in Edmunds County their entire lives. Julianna died October 9, 1964 in Roscoe and is buried there in the Morningside Cemetery.
