Shay, Aloma "Jean" 66 of Rothbury, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2009 in Muskegon. She was born February 6, 1943 in Muskegon to Caleb "Art" Hittle and Dorothy (Burmeister) Hittle. Jean was raised in Shelby. She spent most of her adult life in Rothbury. She had been employed at Whitehall Metal Products and had attended Claybanks United Methodist Church. Jean enjoyed gardening, painting, ceramics and crafts. She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Burns; her daughter, Shelley Burns and Shelley's fiance, Robert Gordon; her brothers, Wayne (Deb) Hittle and Robert (Edna) Hittle; niece, Paula (Jeff) Newmyer; great-niece, Nicole; great-nephew, Patrick; other nieces, nephews and friends; and her best friend, her dog, Dolly. The funeral service was held Wednesday, February 11, 12 Noon at Claybanks United Methodist Church with Pastor Gayle Berntsen officiating. Memorials to Claybanks United Methodist Church are appreciated. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shelby.
