HOARD, BERNARD
WATERLOO -- Bernard Hoard, age 84, passed away on Monday, July 24, 1989, at the Columbus Community Hospital following a lingering illness. He was born on July 17, 1903, in the Town of Waterloo, the son of Bernard and Emilie Hoard. He married Gertrude Konsoer on February 22, 1930. He and his wife had farmed in the Town of Medina most of their lives, retiring in 1966. His wife preceded him in death on March 22, 1978.
Survivors include a daughter, Diane Hoard of Waterloo; a son, Russell (Doris) of Marshall; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Walter (Hattie) Harbort of Madison, Mrs. Hilda Greenwood of Fresno, California, Mrs. Marie Lapp of Waukesha, and Mrs. Arnold (Alma) Ries of Lomira; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was further preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.
Private funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 1989, in the Pederson Funeral Home, Waterloo, with the Reverend Paul Anderson of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Marshall, officiating. Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery in the Town of Portland. Memorials may be given to either the Waterloo Rescue Squad or to the American Cancer Society.
