Son of Olai & Ordina (Wang) Olson. He was a 1954 graduate of the Radcliffe Schools. On Jan. 7, 1956, he married Diane Thompson at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Radcliffe. They lived in the Radcliffe-Ellsworth area where DeFlorin operated the feed mill for the Thompson Hatchery turkey farms and Louis Rich Co. He also operated the welding shop for a short time. In 1979 DeFlorin & Diane began a wood shavings business and in 1981 began farming as well. He was also a hog producer for a number of years. Also a partner with his son in the production of turkeys along with the farming.
He died after a battle of cancer for 15 months on his farm near Ellsworth. He was preceded in death by his paretns.
He is survived by his wife, Diane; son, Randy & Wanda Olson, Ellsworth; daughter, Randa, Ellsworth; 5 sisters, Wanda Rose, Sunnyvale, CA., Verna James & LaVonne Reyes, both Carson City, NV., Romaine Hanson, Spirit Lake, and DelRina Spindler, Radcliffe; one brother, Leo Olson, Radcliffe and 3 grandchildren, Clint, Danielle and Lucas.
