Mabel L. Stitt, 89, of 436 Baynton Ave., Lakemont, died at 9:55 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, 1988, at Mercy Hospital, following a brief illness.
She was born April 13, 1896, in Sugar Run, the daughter of George W. and Minnie Burkhart, and Dec. 14, 1920, in Altoona, married George W. Stitt.
Surviving are her husband, three children: Clair E. of Altoona, Phyllis J. Briggs of St. Louis, Mo. and Jack W. of Lakemont, and two grandsons; Robert E. Stitt and Brent Briggs.
Mrs. Stitt was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and its Ladies Sunday School Class.
Friends will be received form 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Plank & Stitt Funeral Home, Hollidaysburg. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Plank & Stitt Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, by the Rev. D. David McCaulley. Interment at Alto-Reste Park.
