Gail Y. Brown, 84, of Waynesburg, formerly of Washington, died at 8 p.m. Sunday, April 20, 1997, in Greene County Memorial Hospital, Waynesburg, following a lengthy illness.
She was born July 11, 1912, in Centerville Borough, a daughter of Dirth and Blanche Winnett Yorty.
Mrs. Brown was a member of Faith United Presbyterian Church, Washington.
Before retiring, she was a registered nurse at Centerville Clinics Inc.
Mrs. Brown was a graduate of Washington Hospital School of Nursing.
She was a member of Washington Hospital Alumni Association and Washington Hospital Auxiliary.
Surviving are one son, Kenneth G. Brown of Waynesburg; two grandchildren, Nancy Allison and Douglas Brown; and five great-grandchildren.
Deceased are her husband, Victor C. Brown, who died May 4, 1973; and one sister, Mary Lea Smith, who died in September 1994.
