Mrs. roberta Bell, 91, of Fremont, CA, formerly of Clinton, NC; died peacefully Tuesday, surrounded by her loving family in Fremont, CA.

Mrs. Bell was born and raised in Clinton, NC. She followed her children to California where she lived a total of 24 years, but her roots always remained in North Carolina. Roberta was gifted with a kind heart and genuine warmth which she shared so openly with those who knew her and even those she had just met. She influenced the lives of so many others through the inimitable combination of her strong values and gentle ways. Roberta had a lifelong service to the Lord and unwavering faith. She was a dedicated member of New Bethel Baptist Church in Clinton, NC, First Baptist Church in Newark, CA, and more recently attended Calvary Chapel in Fremont, CA. She was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart and husband of 58 years, Leonard Bell and her sister, Reatha Bell.

She is survived by her son, Robert Hugh Bell and wife Karen, daughters, Sandi McMillin, Joann Salaz and husband Eduardo, and Marian Naaf and husband Doug, grandchildren Brian Bell, Kim Masters and husband Demetrios, Mike McMillin, Maya Marcus and Matthew Naaf, and great grandchildren, Calista Nicholas and Sophia Masters, and Marissa and Tyler Marcus, and many nieces and nephews, including, Frances, Keith, and Lesa Burke, wife and children of Roberta's late nephew, Wilford Bell.

The family recieved friends one hour prior services, Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at the church.

The funeral services were held at 2pm, Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at New Bethel Baptist Church in Clinton, with her nephews, Rev. Foster Bell and Rev. Clevie Bell and Rev. Terry Cummins officiating.

Burial was made in the Church Cemetery.
